Announced last February 2016, it was widely admired because it managed to step-up from the innovation set by its predecessor, the Galaxy S6.

DESIGN

Samsung S7 Edge has of course, the curved Edges that makes it quite ergonomic and feels slimmer than it truly is. I have to say that operating this machine bummed me out at first because my hand kept on accidentally touching the edge. It’s only a matter of time until you get the hang of it.

Protected back to back by Gorilla Glass 4, the S7 Edge is likely to fingerprints aaaand kinda slippery to hold. Although, it is water and dust resistant. The power button is the only thing you will see on the right side, while the volume-rocker is on the left. Up front are the capacitive buttons and home button that is also a fingerprint sensor which lets you unlock the device and sign in to websites. Down below are the micro USB, 3.5mm audio jack, mic and speaker. Whereas the SIM and SD card slot are on the top.

DISPLAY AND BATTERY

S7 Edge is thin enough to pack in a 3600 mAh battery that can survive a day’s usage. If you need to juice up though, it’s capable of fast charging and wireless charging as well. Charging it to a 100% took us an hour and 20 mins. While Accubattery said the phone will roughly last 13h 42 mins on average use, 9 hours if you use it extremely and 32 hours and 32 mins when left on stand by.

It is processed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890, with 4 GB RAM. Making it nice and smooth for gaming and multi-tasking. Samsung also included a Game tool, for you to mute all alert while you’re playing, to lock the Recents and Back keys for accidental touches, to screenshot and even record your game.

CAMERA

S7 Edge has 5MP Sensor Front Cam, paired with an aperture of 1.7 to give you more light access. A Dual pixel 12MP Rear Camera with an Optical Image Stabilization and 1.7 aperture that gives a nice depth to photos.

It homes multiple modes to choose from, including a hyperlapse mode that is more stable than your normal timelapse.

In short, is Samsung S7 Edge worth the money? Heck yeah! It is a cool phone to have, particularly to people who enjoy having shortcuts when multitasking using the edge plus the other winning factors like the battery and the water and dust resistance.
